After a short fall hiatus, we are so very excited to be back in action doing a charity show! See Stranger Than Fiction perform a set of their madcap short form improvisational comedy you love so much at the Atlantis Playmakers Theater in Burlington, MA. The bill also features a slew of other mindblowingly awesome New England area comedians and improvisors, such as Made of Plastic, Heard of It (a duo comprised of Harry Gordon and Christine Cuddy), Laura Clark, and David Mogolov. It’s fun, it’s interactive, and it’s made up entirely on the spot based off of YOUR suggestions. Summer may be over, as our beloved autumn leaves bask in their crackling vibrancy and begin their slow descent onto cold, cruel, unforgiving ground. Fall brings a sense of slowing down, a cessation, a rest. It also brings a time of pumpkins, tractor rides, and the honey-crisp aftertaste of hot orchard cider in the afternoon, pushin’ kids into the leaves and havin’ a ball. So, enjoy the autumnal chill. Push some kids into the leaves. Small, unsuspecting ones. Drink a pumpkin latte and trip a local hobo with your leaf blower, just for kicks, just for the thrill of it all, just for the fight. Wear a seasonal sweater.

You make the call on the sweater. We’ll leave that moral conundrum up to you to work out.

Please post (below) a genre or historical setting to base a one-night-only, full length show performed during the second half of our weekly Tuesday Night Improv shows at The Players’ Ring. We’re looking for genres, time-periods, TV shows, or books (for example, Western, Star-Wars, The Hardy Boys, crime drama).  We’ll select a suggestion and perform a full-length, improvised show set entirely in the world you suggested. So what’s it going to be?  Robin Hood?  Disney movie?  Cops and gangsters?

What kind of suggestion are we likely to choose?  Here are some tips:

Be brief.  Try and sum it up in the name of a genre, movie, book, or TV show.  If your suggestion is more than four words you might be providing more details than we really need.  Which leads to the next suggestion.

Be general.  If you lay out all the details we’re left with little to make up on our own.  We can do so much more with “John Hughes movie” than with “teenagers in Wisconsin, 1986 at a drive-in with their robot friends.”
