Classes and Improv Lab

Stranger Than Fiction offers classes and workshops for performers of all ages and skill sets. Our offerings are designed to give local performers the opportunity to experience the same rigor and focus of a New York City or Chicago improv comedy school. Experienced instructors teach all of the classes offered by Stranger Than Fiction. We aim to provide performers with confidence so they may hit the stage with creativity and presence.

Foundations of Improv is an intensive workshop series that introduces the diversity of improv theater and comedy philosophies with a focus in confidence building, creative collaboration, and original character development. The class will cover many of the short form improv comedy games made popular by programs such as Whose Line is it Anyway? It is also an informative overview of global improv resources (from the latest books and websites to national and international festivals). The workshop series culminates in a live stage performance produced with Stranger Than Fiction. This class will be held at the Empower Yoga Studio in downtown Portsmouth, NH. Instructed by John Herman.

The classes below are for hire. Have us come to YOU!
